Job summary

Bend-La Pine Schools seeks a Classroom Teacher to motivate and guide learning, delivering prescribed instruction with safety and health in mind. The role reports to the site administrator and emphasizes equity in policies, practices, and resource use.

The educator will plan instruction, assess student needs, manage classrooms, and collaborate with families and colleagues to support every student's growth and achievement.

Qualifications

• Completion of course work satisfying the requirement for issuance of a valid Oregon Teaching License with appropriate endorsement.
• Demonstrated ability to teach students to be successful learners through student teaching, internship or temporary/regular teaching experience.
• Adhere to Bend-La Pine Schools policies and professional conduct expectations.

Responsibilities

• Identifies the needs of individual students by continuous assessment of their abilities.
• Writes instructional plans and uses a variety of methods to implement them.
• Manages the classroom to create the optimum learning conditions.
• Evaluates and reports student progress; participates in parent conferences.
• Provides plans for and supervises educational assistants.
