Job summary

Chess Wizards, Inc. is seeking enthusiastic, reliable Assistant Instructors to support our after-school enrichment program in the Pottstown area. This role offers hands-on teaching experience, classroom management practice, and the chance to mentor young chess players.

You’ll work with a structured curriculum, help 15-22 elementary students, and travel to local school sites for sessions in the fall season. Training and ongoing support are provided.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in working with groups of elementary students.
• Experience teaching, tutoring, camp counseling, or similar is a plus.
• Ability to follow directions and support classroom management.
• Positive, kid-friendly demeanor and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chess Instructor in setting up and running a 15-22 student class.
• Provide one-on-one or small-group support to practice moves and basic concepts.
• Follow curriculum, promote sportsmanship, and keep students engaged.
• Travel to various local school sites and arrive prepared.
