Job summary

Centralia School District seeks an elementary teacher to engage students with proven instructional practices and monitor growth in academics and social-emotional learning at Washington Elementary. Qualifications

• Valid WA state teaching certificate with elementary endorsement.
• Strong communication, empathy, patience, and customer-service orientation.
• Organizational skills and flexibility to respond to changing student needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and work independently or in a team setting; ability to problem-solve.
• Build positive relationships with students, parents and community.
• Proven ability to work with students and adults; uphold district policies.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and materials for active learning.
• Demonstrate knowledge across reading, language arts, social studies, math, science, and SEL.
• Create a safe classroom space for rigorous academic learning.
• Support school/district policies and procedures.
• Establish and enforce a classroom management system aligned to the schoolwide approach.
• Collaborate in PLCs to address what to learn and how to assess learning.
• Maintain attendance records and accurate grades communicating progress.
• Maintain professional communication with families, staff, and administration.
• Ensure alignment with IEPs, 504s, EL Plans and other specialized plans.
• Use classroom technology to enhance instruction and engagement.
• Support the School Improvement Plan; attend trainings and meet deadlines.
• Other duties as assigned.
