St. John’s Catholic School New Haven is seeking a Long Term Sub for our 4th grade teacher. The Educator will plan, teach, and assess in alignment with the Diocesan Curriculum and the school mission.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in Education and Indiana teaching certification or the ability to obtain it; strong classroom management, differentiated instruction, and collaborative communication are essential. Safe Environment training and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
• Valid Indiana teaching certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.
• Successful experience in student teaching or classroom teaching.
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
• Ability to engage students through creative and differentiated instruction.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to supporting the mission and values at St. John’s the Baptist Catholic school.
• Ability to complete Safe Environment training and required background checks.
• Degree preferred: Teaching license or sub permit.

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach 4th grade in alignment with curriculum.
• Foster critical thinking and problem-solving through meaningful learning experiences.
• Develops lesson plans with clear objectives in line with the Diocesan Curriculum.
• Assess student progress and communicate with families.
• Collaborate with faculty and administration to support student success.
• Integrate faith, values, and the school mission into classroom culture.
• Maintain lesson plans, grading, and classroom organization in a timely manner.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
• Use relevant technology to support/enhance instruction.
• Maintain positive discipline to enhance learning environment.
• Maintain records of students' progress and development.
• Provide regular communication with parents, students, staff, and administration.
• Perform duties for supervision before, during or after school as assigned.
