You will collaborate with staff on curriculum planning, assist in selecting instructional materials, and maintain positive rapport with students and parents.

Responsibilities

• Present subject matter to students with real-world, application-based examples and learning opportunities.
• Use a variety of learning modalities and differentiated instruction within lessons.
• Refer students with suspected learning problems to appropriate support personnel.
• Participate with staff in curriculum planning during designated meetings.
• Incorporate diagnostic information from the student's IEP into planning.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students' maturity and interests.
• Plan and implement instruction aligned to adopted courses of study.
• Assist in curriculum revision and revision of written courses of study.
• Assist in selecting books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
• Maintain positive rapport with students, demonstrating patience and nurturing.
• Implements all relevant policies governing student conduct.
• Develops reasonable rules of classroom/playground behavior in accordance with CSUSA policy and guidelines.
• Cooperates with administration, other staff and with CSUSA.
• Assigns lessons, corrects student work, and reviews oral presentations.
• Participates in parent communication activities.
• Strives to establish cooperative relations and communicate with parents/guardians when appropriate.
• Utilizes diagnostic assessment of student learning on a frequent basis, assesses strengths/weaknesses and generates progress reports.
