Job summary

NYOS Charter School in Austin, TX seeks an Elementary Teacher to join our team for the 2026-27 school year. The role reports to the Elementary Principal and requires a Texas teaching certificate and ESL certification.

The position includes 190 service days and a commitment to rigorous academics and civic engagement. Responsibilities include planning, delivering instruction, evaluating student progress, and collaborating with colleagues to support diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required.
• Texas ESL certification required.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare classroom, materials and lesson plans and implement research-based instructional practices.
• Observe, evaluate, remediate, and extend on students' academic performance, behavior, and social development.
• Identify, modify, and adapt curriculum and approved instructional resources to meet various learning styles and needs of students.
• Utilize a variety of teaching methods to instruct students individually, in small groups, and as a whole class.
• Monitor students in various educational environments for a safe and positive learning environment.
• Implement and maintain effective classroom management to ensure continual progress of students.
• Use data to monitor learning and design lessons tailored to student needs.
• Communicate with parents and guardians to discuss student progress.
