Qualifications

• AA degree with focus on early childhood education or closely related field, willingness to further education accepted.
• BA/BS in early childhood education or closely related field (18 credit hours in ECE or child development) preferred.
• Extensive demonstrated experience working with children and families is required.
• Minimum of two years of successful experience with children ages 0-5 years.
• Must enroll in required training within specified timelines (DCFs 45-hour course, safety trainings, health courses).

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a daily classroom program that is developmental and age-appropriate.
• Encourage parent involvement through ongoing communication.
• Develop weekly lesson plans with diverse activities across subjects.
• Supervise children and maintain accurate attendance.
• Create a positive, disciplined classroom environment compliant with policy.
• Conduct parent/teacher conferences and home visits on schedule.
• Assist with facility maintenance and inventory as needed.
• Provide a safe, healthy environment and support for each child.
