Job summary

Elevate Charter Schools in New Haven, CT is seeking a dedicated Physical Education (PE) Teacher for the Middle School to design and lead a dynamic, culturally responsive PE program that builds physical literacy, health knowledge, sportsmanship, and self-discipline.

You will collaborate with classroom teachers, differentiate instruction for diverse learners, and lead or support extracurricular activities, fitness clubs, or wellness programs to foster a positive school culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher is required.
• Valid teaching certification in Physical Education or eligibility for reciprocity is required/able to obtain.
• 2–3 years of experience teaching PE or coaching youth athletics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging PE lessons that promote fitness, movement skills, health literacy, and teamwork.
• Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners and abilities.
• Monitor student progress, maintain assessment data, and adjust instruction to meet goals.
• Lead or support extracurricular activities such as intramural sports or wellness programs.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to align PE with academic and SEL goals.
