Cross Country Education in Memphis, TN is seeking a High School Social Studies Teacher to inspire students to explore History, Economics, and Government through real-world issues in a standards-aligned classroom.

You will lead engaging lessons, analyze primary sources, facilitate debates, and guide students in applying concepts to their communities while developing critical thinking and communication skills for college and careers.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Active Tennessee Teaching License/Certificate with the appropriate secondary Social Studies endorsement.
• 2+ years of teaching experience preferred, with experience teaching Social Studies in an urban or charter school setting strongly preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Teach engaging, standards-aligned history lessons that help students analyze historical events, primary sources, cause-and-effect relationships, and the perspectives that shaped different eras.
• Guide students in applying economic concepts such as markets, supply and demand, financial decision-making, and economic policy to real-world situations.
• Develop students’ understanding of government structures, civic responsibilities, political systems, and the role of citizens in a democratic society.
• Facilitate evidence-based discussions, projects, and assessments that help students connect historical, economic, and civic concepts to current issues while strengthening their research, critical thinking, and communication skills.
