Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current cosmetology license required; instructor license preferred.
• Minimum of one year of documented practical cosmetology experience or on-the-job training to obtain instructor license.

Responsibilities

• Provide students with technical instruction in a safe, clean and productive learning environment.
• Administer and correct tests; annotate progress on student tracking records.
• Advance student retention toward program hour goals.
• Assist students with job placement and industry certifications/licenses.
• Motivate and advise students on behavior, training, or study habits; support staff as needed.
• Follow daily direction and schedules of the instructor/coordinator.
• Encourage professionalism and good work habits.
• Support program marketing activities.
• Collaborate with college community as needed.
• Manage equipment and supplies; suggest purchases.
• Comply with cash handling procedures and processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
