Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a 3rd grade Social Studies Teacher for IDEA Henry Academy in Permian Basin, TX. This full-time position is an immediate opening for the 2026-2027 school year, offering a starting salary of $63,500 plus stipends for certifications and campus leadership.

The teacher will deliver rigorous instruction, assess mastery, track progress, and collaborate with families to support student achievement in a high-growth charter network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required)
• Experience in a K-12 classroom setting preferred
• Reading Academies certification or willingness to obtain TX training within required timelines; bilingual certification strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback
• Track each student’s progress and adjust plans based on data and feedback
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families weekly
• Maintain a consistent behavior management system aligning with campus initiatives
• Foster a productive learning environment and strong school community
• Engage in tutoring sessions as needed and participate in weekly meetings and events
