Job summary

Parker Hannifin Corporation's Military Flight Controls Division in Irvine, CA seeks a Senior Inspector to perform detailed dimensional and visual inspections, support first article and final inspections, and maintain DQR certification for key customers.

You will interpret complex drawings and schematics, work with electrohydraulic servo systems knowledge, and maintain accurate inspection records while supporting government source inspections and related duties.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of aerospace inspection experience.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5; AS9100; AS9102 standards.
• Ability to interpret complex drawings and schematics; electro-hydraulic servo systems a plus.
• Familiarity with MES systems such as Net-Inspect and Solumina.
• Effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills; team collaboration.
• May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-complex to complex inspection of machined parts, castings, forgings and assemblies.
• Layout and measure hole locations and centerlines on parts.
• Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and envelope inspection.
• Maintain accurate acceptance and rejection records.
• Interpret drawings and customer requirements to determine acceptance or rejection.
• Identify non-conformances and participate in root cause investigations.
• Maintain full DQR status and release approvals for applicable customers.
• Support special process witness and sign-off requirements; assist with government inspections.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Military Flight Controls Division Supporting aircraft worldwide, Parker Aerospace's Military Flight Controls Division (MFCD) provides primary and secondary flight control systems that make flight possible. Tested, proven and trusted in commercial and military applications for decades, MFCD provides precise position-control actuation solutions for military aircraft across the United States and with foreign partners. The division's JetPipe electrohydraulic servovalve (EHSV) technology is used across commercial and military aircraft around the world. Position Summary:

Under general supervision, the Senior Inspector performs detailed dimensional and visual inspections. This role supports first article and final inspection activities and maintains full Delegated Quality Representative (DQR) certification for key customers.

Responsibilities:

• Perform semi-complex to complex inspection of detailed machined parts, castings, forgings, and assemblies using a wide variety of precision measuring instruments and inspection set-ups to determine acceptability of parts and finish.
• Layout and measure hole locations and centerlines on castings, forgings, and machine parts to maintain control of machining cycle during manufacture.
• Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and envelope inspection.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date acceptance and rejection records.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to arrive at acceptance or rejection and recommend paths forward to management.
• Identify non-conformances, participate in root cause investigations, and prepare required documentation.
• Achieve and maintain full DQR status for applicable customers; independently perform delegated inspection and product release on behalf of those customers.
• Support special process witness and sign-off requirements; assist with customer/government source inspection.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• 3+ years of related aerospace inspection experience or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5; AS9100; AS9102; customer, industry, and military standards and specifications; and shop mathematics (including trigonometry).
• Ability to interpret complex drawings and electronic/hydraulic schematics; knowledge of electro-hydraulic servo systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with quality and MES systems such as Net-Inspect and Solumina.
• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively as a participative team member.
• May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.

Competitive Compensation

• Pay Range: $26.65/hr to $40.25/hr
• Participation in Annual Incentive Program
