Job summary

Parker Hannifin in Irvine, CA seeks a Senior Inspector for the Military Flight Controls Division. You will perform detailed dimensional and visual inspections on complex parts, maintain DQR certification, and support root-cause investigations for aerospace programs.

Qualifications

• Familiar with Net-Inspect and Solumina MES.
• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-complex to complex inspection of machined parts, castings, forgings, and assemblies.
• Layout and measure hole locations and centerlines on castings, forgings, and machine parts.
• Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and envelope inspection.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date acceptance and rejection records.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to accept or reject and recommend paths forward.
• Identify non-conformances, participate in root cause investigations, and prepare required documentation.
• Achieve and maintain full DQR status for applicable customers; perform delegated inspection and release.
• Support special process witness and sign-off requirements; assist with customer/government source inspection.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Military Flight Controls Division

Supporting aircraft worldwide, Parker Aerospace’s Military Flight Controls Division (MFCD) provides primary and secondary flight control systems that make flight possible. Position Summary

Under general supervision, the Senior Inspector performs detailed dimensional and visual inspections. This role supports first article and final inspection activities and maintains full Delegated Quality Representative (DQR) certification for key customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform semi-complex to complex inspection of detailed machined parts, castings, forgings, and assemblies using a wide variety of precision measuring instruments and inspection set-ups to determine acceptability of parts and finish.
• Layout and measure hole locations and centerlines on castings, forgings, and machine parts to maintain control of machining cycle during manufacture.
• Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and envelope inspection.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date acceptance and rejection records.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to arrive at acceptance or rejection and recommend paths forward to management.
• Identify non-conformances, participate in root cause investigations, and prepare required documentation.
• Achieve and maintain full DQR status for applicable customers; independently perform delegated inspection and product release on behalf of those customers.
• Support special process witness and sign-off requirements; assist with customer/government source inspection.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• 3+ years of related aerospace inspection experience or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5; AS9100; AS9102; customer, industry, and military standards and specifications; and shop mathematics (including trigonometry).
• Ability to interpret complex drawings and electronic/hydraulic schematics; knowledge of electro-hydraulic servo systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with quality and MES systems such as Net-Inspect and Solumina.
• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively as a participative team member.
• May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Pay Range: $26.65/hr to $40.25/hr
