Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a diligent Inspector/Sorter Labor to inspect poultry products throughout the production process, ensuring quality, safety, and USDA compliance, with focus on isolating defective product and maintaining line efficiency.

The role involves trimming, sorting, and possible rework or disposal of products, while adhering to safety and PPE requirements. Applicants must be able to perform physical tasks on a 2nd shift facility.

  • Inspect poultry products for quality, wholesomeness, and food safety requirements.
  • Identify and remove products that do not meet USDA or Tyson Foods standards.
  • Sort, trim, rework, or dispose of product as required.
  • Monitor product flow and maintain production line efficiency.
  • Communicate quality concerns, equipment issues, and production problems to Leads and Supervisors.
  • Follow all food safety, animal welfare, biosecurity, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Properly use knives, scissors, knife sharpeners, and other required tools.
  • Wear and maintain required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

The Inspector/Sorter Labor position is responsible for inspecting poultry products throughout the production process to ensure product quality, food safety, and compliance with USDA and company standards. Team members evaluate carcasses and parts for defects, contamination, or other condemnable conditions and take appropriate action to ensure only wholesome products continue through the production process.
