Job summary

Bombardier Transportation GmbH in Hartford seeks an experienced Inspector, Quality for the Overnight Shift. You will verify maintenance actions, approve returns to service, and ensure documentation is complete for regulatory compliance and customer records.

The role requires 3–4 years in aircraft maintenance, 1 year in corporate jets, and an A&P certificate. Eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $5,000; inclusive benefits and a strong focus on safety and quality are offered.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of aircraft maintenance experience
• 1 year corporate/commercial jet experience
• Ability to read and interpret engineering documents and maintenance manuals
• Ability to read, write, and understand English

Responsibilities

• Adhere to General Work Requirements.
• Perform Return to Service process and approve aircraft for return to service per regulations as authorized by the repair station manager.
• Obtain documentation, inventory, and secure aircraft records on arrival.
• Inspect aircraft, engines, parts, components, and tools per regulatory requirements.
• Inspect maintenance and in-process repairs to verify corrective actions.
• Inspect all new/repaired parts for damage, count and conformity.
• Ensure work packages and records are documented; complete customer and Bombardier forms.
• Research aircraft drawings and data as required.
• Perform pre-release walk-around inspections.
• Assist customers as required.
• Perform other tasks as required.

Overnight (3rd Shift) Schedule Requirement

This position is a permanent overnight (3rd shift) role working from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Candidates must be available to work one of the following schedules:

• 3A Shift: Every other Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday
• 3B Shift: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and every other Saturday

What are your contributions to the team?

• Adhere to General Work Requirements.
• Perform Return to Service process and approve aircraft for return to service in accordance with the applicable regulations as authorized and delegated by the repair station accountable manager.
• Upon A/C arrival, obtain associated documentation, inventory and secure all aircraft documents as required.
• Perform inspections of aircraft, engines, parts and components, precision tools, equipment and other materials in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
• Inspect aircraft maintenance and in-process inspections for repairs and alterations performed by Aircraft Maintenance Technicians to verify and/or approve corrective actions.
• Upon receipt, perform inspection of all new, repaired and rebuilt parts / components for evidence for physical damage, count and conformity
• Ensure that all work packages (orders and forms) as well as records of arrival (debrief checklist) and maintenance actions performed are documented accurately and that all specialized customer forms, and Bombardier and Learjet forms (i.e., RED, RFE & SRPSA) are documented accurately.
• Research aircraft drawings and technical data (i.e., REO, EO, DCN) as required.
• Perform walk around inspection of aircraft prior to release from maintenance when required.
• Assist customers as required.
• Perform other tasks as required.

How to thrive in this role?

• You typically have 3 to4years' aircraft maintenance experience
• You typically have 1 year corporate / commercial jet experience
• You have the ability to read and interpret engineering documents and maintenance manuals
• You have the ability to read, write, and understand the English language
• You have an Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
