Job summary

Accurus Aerospace is seeking an Inspector, Processing - NDT for night shift in Tulsa, OK. The role focuses on non-destructive testing of aerospace components, including FPI/PT, and includes reading blueprints, applying acceptance criteria, and documenting findings.

NDT Inspector

Essential Functions

To accomplish this job, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to help enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions:

  • Performs non-destructive testing of aerospace components, including Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI/PT), within the scope of applicable training and certification
  • Performs visual and processing inspections, including etch, shot peen, paint, and identification inspections, as applicable
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, specifications, work instructions, technical data, and other documentation to determine inspection and acceptance requirements
  • Determines and utilizes appropriate inspection methods, instruments, and equipment to complete assigned in-process and final inspections
  • Evaluates inspection results against applicable customer, engineering, and quality requirements
  • Identifies and documents discrepancies and initiates nonconformance records for product that does not meet established requirements, as authorized
  • Communicates inspection findings and production concerns to appropriate Quality , Operations, and other personnel
  • Works with applicable personnel to support investigation and corrective action activities related to inspection findings
  • Accurately completes and maintains inspection records and other required quality documentation
  • Verifies inspection equipment is within calibration requirements and appropriate for use
  • Maintains inspection areas, equipment, and materials in accordance with applicable procedures and safety requirements

  • Identifies opportunities to improve inspection effectiveness, quality, and efficiency
  • Follows all applicable safety, quality, environmental, and company policies and procedures

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Technical education or training in Non-Destructive Testing, Quality, or a related field preferred
Experience
  • 1 -2 ye ars of experience in NDT, aerospace manufacturing, quality inspection, or a related manufacturing environme nt re qui re d
Certifications & Licenses
  • Previo us NDT certification or qualification in applicable method(s), including Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), preferred
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required NDT certifications and qualifications as applicable to assigned responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, work instructions, and technical documentation
  • Knowledge of inspection methods, equipment, and quality requirements appropriate to assigned responsibilities
  • Ability to accurately identify , evaluate, and document inspection findings
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to follow established procedures and work within the limitations of applicable training and certification
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with Quality, Operations, Engineering, and other functional teams
  • Basic computer skills and ability to accurately complete electronic and written quality records
  • Ability to organize work and manage multiple inspection priorities in a manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly stands and walks for extended periods
  • Frequently uses hands and fingers to handle, position, inspect, and manipulate parts and inspection equipment
  • Frequently reaches, bends, stoops, and performs repetitive movements
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Must possess the visual acuity required to perform assigned inspection activities
  • Must meet applicable near-vision and color-perception requirements associated with NDT certification and assigned inspection methods
Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing and inspection environment. Employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, chemicals, processing materials, moving equipment, and varying temperatures. Appropriate personal protective equipment must be worn as required.
