Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Packer/Handler at the OKOK Oklahoma City Plant to inspect, assemble, flame, stack, and label products in a fast-paced production environment. The role requires attention to quality, safety, and efficiency, with responsibilities spanning from quality checks to material handling and documentation.

The position supports weekend/holiday/overtime schedules, with a focus on maintaining cleanliness, organization, and adherence to Amcor quality standards.

  • Able to tolerate constant repetition.
  • Must be able to identify alpha / numeric product codes.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect products to ensure quality. Set aside products that are below quality standards. Communicate issues to leads and supervisor.
  • Complete assembly of products by installing gaskets in lids and handles in containers as required.
  • Flame containers and lids when required.
  • Stack and pack product per varying customer instructions.
  • Prepare proper product identification and/or packaging labels.
  • Accurately complete required paperwork.
  • Assist with material handling and other tasks as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.

Assures by visual inspection that all containers and lids are being manufactured and packaged according to Amcor quality standards and guidelines in a safe and efficient manner.

Accountabilities
Key Functions
  • Inspect products to ensure quality. Set aside products that are below quality standards. Work closely with Leads and alert Mold Tech and Supervisor of any quality issues or reject conditions. Watch molds for irregularities or sticking. Timely response to quality issues is key to this position.
  • Complete assembly of products by installing gaskets in lids and handles in containers as required while keeping up with the production machines cycles.
  • Flame containers and lids when required.
  • Stack and pack product per instructions that vary with different customers and orders.
  • Prepare proper product identification and/or packaging labels.
  • Accurately complete any required paperwork
  • Assist with material handling and other tasks as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
Responsibilities
  • When the machine experiences interruption in production, the packer/handler will take this available time to clean up oil, sweep, mop, make boxes or other tasks that may be assigned by the team leader or supervisor.

3.2 Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Behaviours
  • Previous production experience is preferred
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English would be a plus
  • Physical Requirements
  • Standing and Walking: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 12 hours per shift) on concrete floors in a production environment.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Regularly required to lift and carry materials, and packaging supplies weighing up to 40 lbs
  • Bending, Stooping, and Kneeling: Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling to set up printing equipment, load materials, and perform maintenance tasks
  • Climbing and Reaching: Occasional climbing of steps or ladders and reaching overhead or below waist level to access printing supplies and equipment
  • Manual Dexterity: Must have fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination to operate printing machinery, adjust settings, and manage small components with precision
  • Visual and Auditory Acuity: Ability to read labels, print specifications, and computer screens. Must be able to hear equipment alerts and verbal instructions in a moderately noisy environment
  • Environmental Exposure: May be exposed to ink fumes, cleaning chemicals, heat, humidity, and moderate to high noise levels typical of injection molding and printing operations
  • Mobility and Coordination: Must be able to safely navigate printing equipment, production areas, and storage zones with good balance and coordination
