Job summary

Huhtamaki in the United States is seeking an Inspector Packer to join our manufacturing team in Alabama. You will inspect finished products from Flexo and N-Line machines and pack cartons for shipment, while upholding safety and SQF standards.

Responsibilities include observing safety rules, assisting machine operators, cleaning around the area, and communicating about quality and production with supervisors and team members.

Qualifications

• Continuous mental and visual attention when performing work activities.
• 40 hours per week with overtime possible.
• Must wear PPE including ear protection, hair net, safety glasses, and safety footwear.
• Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds; loads heavier than 50 pounds require assistance.
• 8–12 hour shift with moderate to heavy physical effort.

Job Summary

The Inspector Packer position is responsible for inspecting and packing finished product from the Flexo and/or N-Line Machine.

Essential Functions

• Observe all Huhtamaki safety rules and always use safe working methods and procedures to avoid injury, injury to co-workers, or damage to company property.
• Inspect and pack finished cartons into a corrugated box.
• Assist Flexo and/or N-Line Operator.
• Clean area around machine.
• Re-inspect cartons and visually inspect products for defects.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, lead persons and operators in matters such as but not limited to safety, quality, production, etc.
• Practice Food Safety and all SQF Regulations.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Job Qualifications

• Continuous mental and visual attention when performing work activities.
• Work shift work of 40 hours per week, with overtime possible.
• Must use PPE to include ear plugs or muffs, hair net, and safety glasses, & steel toe or composite toe shoes.
• Frequently lifting 35lbs, occasionally bending, stooping crouching and climbing, frequent neck and trunk extension as associated with reaching above shoulders and frequent handling of supplies and tools overhead.
• Must be able to safely lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds independently on a frequent basis. Loads exceeding 50 pounds must be moved using appropriate assistance, team lifting, or mechanical lifting equipment.
• Position requires moderate to heavy physical effort, including frequent lifting, carrying, standing, walking, bending, and reaching during an 8-12 hour shift.

Preferred

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prefer 1 year of manufacturing experience.
