Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Inspector II to be based in Phoenix, Arizona. This role serves as a construction inspector on infrastructure projects under the general supervision of the resident engineer.

Responsibilities include tracking daily contractor activities, recording work for payment, daily project documentation, and ensuring compliance with plans and specifications. Some travel and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

  • HS + 2 years of relevant experience or equivalency.
  • A valid driver's license is required, along with the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check in accordance with company policy.
  • US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

  • Tracks and inspects the daily activities of the contractor, measuring completed items of work and recording them for payment.
  • Daily project documentation.
  • Determines when the project materials and procedures are not in compliance with project plans or specifications.
  • Submits daily diaries or inspection logs, detailing all daily activities, labor, and equipment.
  • Inspects traffic control and other worksite items for safety and compliance with specifications and/or plans.
  • Coordinates with the contractor to inspect and document site operations.
  • Performs testing of concrete and soils/aggregates.
  • Performs sampling of construction materials such as concrete, asphalt, aggregates, and rebar.

Job Description

Qualifications
  • HS + 2 years of relevant experience ordemonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • A valid driver's license is required, along with the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check in accordance with company policy.
  • US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in Construction Inspection
  • Certifications: ACI, ATTI required. ATSSA Technician preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Night and weekend work may be required.
  • Experience in transportation-related construction projects.
