Job summary

Nucor Corporation in Salt Lake City is seeking an entry-level material handler to support unloading and directing materials, with a strong emphasis on safety and accuracy. You will help customers find proper unloading locations and ensure compliance with safety policies on site.

The role requires a 6-day work week, good verbal communication, and the ability to work with others in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Qualifications

• 2 years in an industrial/outdoor work environment.
• 6-day work week.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with customers.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
• Working experience around large trucks and heavy equipment preferred.
• PC experience and processing monetary transactions preferred.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work with others and be part of the team.

Responsibilities

• Assist and direct customers to proper location to unload materials.
• Inspect for existence of flammable, radioactive, hazardous and/or leaded materials. Inspect materials for liquids, non-metallic and all other posted or non-posted materials that are non-acceptable (i.e. propane tanks, PCB's, batteries, etc.)
• Ensure that any materials not allowed are not left on Company property.
• Remove and properly store any items or material occasionally.
• General duties involving physical handling of materials, supplies, etc.
• May assist other workers as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Basic Job Functions:
