Nucor in the United States is hiring for a material handler role within our steel products operation. You will assist customers, direct unloading, and help maintain a safe, organized worksite while collaborating with a team dedicated to reliability and efficiency.

Ideal candidates bring at least 2 years in industrial settings, strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work a 6-day schedule. We offer competitive starting pay and benefits as part of our safety‑driven culture.

Qualifications

• 2 years in an industrial/outdoor work environment.
• 6-day work week; Mon-Fri 7:45 a.m.–4:30 p.m. and Sat 7:45 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
• Excellent verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with customers.
• Reliable attendance and dependable schedule.
• Experience around large trucks and heavy equipment; PC experience and monetary transactions.
• HS diploma or GED required.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Team player attitude.

Responsibilities

• Direct customers to unload materials.
• Inspect for hazardous materials and non-acceptable items.
• Ensure prohibited items are not left on site.
• Store items safely and perform occasional removal.
• Handle materials and supplies physically.
• Assist other workers as needed.

Basic Job Functions:

• Assist and direct customers to proper location to unload materials.
• Inspect for existence of flammable, radioactive, hazardous and/or leaded materials. Inspect materials for liquids, non-metallic and all other posted or non-posted materials that are non-acceptable (i.e. propane tanks, PCB's, batteries, etc.)
• Ensure that any materials not allowed are not left on Company property.
• Remove and properly store any items or material occasionally.
• General duties involving physical handling of materials, supplies, etc.
• May assist other workers as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Pay starts at $19-$23

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2 years in an industrial/outdoor work environment
• 6-day work week; Monday-Friday 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p. m and Saturday 7:45 a. m. to 12:00 p.m. Hours are subject to change
• Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with customers.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
• Working Experience around large trucks and heavy equipment preferred. PC experience and processing monetary transactions preferred.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work with others and be part of the team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual preferred - Spanish.
