Job summary

Sea Island Company is seeking a Housekeeping Inspector to elevate guest experiences through meticulous room and public area upkeep. You will inspect and assist housekeeping staff, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation that align with Sea Island’s standards.

As a Housekeeping Inspector at Sea Island, you deliver extraordinary guest experience every day. You are a gracious ambassador for Sea Island with every interaction. You inspect and assist Housekeeping staff in providing friendly, attentive, and timely service, ensuring impeccable rooms and public areas that always meet our high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. As an Inspector for Housekeeping, you live and share your passion for genuine hospitality in your commitment to enriching lives. You are vital to Sea Island’s culture of delivering meaningful, memorable experiences.

Your key responsibilities include establishing daily projects, conducting daily shift meetings, coaching and training team members. You have a key role in staff development, which includes selection and training of new team members, thoughtfully participating in staff performance rewards and evaluations, and maintaining individual documentation. You train staff to ensure standards are met for proper use of all equipment, materials, and supplies. You inspect and assist the Housekeeping team with special projects such as deep cleanings and special location cleaning. You will thoroughly checking each room and public areas for tidiness and any general maintenance issues and ensuring all are reported and corrected immediately.

Additional activities include conducting daily room audits, maintaining written inspection reports and accurate communication of room status to ensure rooms are ready prior to check-in. You maintain accurate linen inventory and assist with purchasing for some amenities. Your input is valued and encouraged on departmental procedures, standards, and programs, as well as supporting the Housekeeping Manager in meeting departmental safety, staffing and financial goals.

You will learn how to consistently uphold and ensure compliance with departmental procedures, including standards for quality, timing, attendance, appearance. You follow and ensure all Sea Island safety protocols are consistently met. You maintain situational awareness of your surroundings, keeping an eye on all areas for tidiness and any general maintenance issues, ensuring that all are corrected or reported immediately. You are generous with your support and help resolve any service issues that arise in a timely and positive way, following up as needed. You are proactive in aiding when needed and are willing to help with other areas or duties as requested. You are willing and can timely execute other duties as delegated by leadership. You play a key role in the training, development, and lead by example.
