Job summary

Tanner Pacific Inc. Bay Area is seeking a Field Inspector to inspect construction projects and confirm conformance to plans, specifications, and safety standards. The role requires reading printed and digital materials and communicating effectively in person, by phone, and digitally.

The job is in a field office, may require overtime and travel between project sites, and you must hold a high school diploma or GED. Fluency in English and a working knowledge of Office 365 are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 10+ years inspection experience in water/wastewater preferred.
• ICC certifications desirable.
• Fluent English, verbal and written.
• Working knowledge of Office 365.
• Knowledge of construction processes and ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Ability to work independently or within a team and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Resolves issues based on clearly defined scenarios and uses feedback to make decisions.

Responsibilities

• Observe work to monitor progress and confirm conformance to plans and specifications, construction and safety standards, verify levels, alignment and elevation of installations
• Examine quality of finished installations for conformity to standards
• Interpret plans and specifications
• Discuss deviations from specified construction procedures and develop recommendations to maintain compliance
• Maintain daily log of construction and inspection activities and compile progress reports
• Document project progress
• Overtime work and work outside normal hours as necessary to meet project requirements
• Travel between project sites; provide own transportation and hold an unsuspended and unrestricted driver’s license

Job Summary

Inspects construction projects to confirm that procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications.

Essential Functions:

• Ability to work in a field office setting
• Operate standard office equipment
• Read printed and digital materials
• Communicate in person, over the telephone and digitally
• Enter confined spaces
• Walk, stand, crawl, climb and stoop for extended periods of time to inspect work
• Position will require work outside of normal workhours to meet project requirements and contractor’s schedule
• Possessing an unsuspended and unrestricted driver’s license may be a condition of employment dependent upon work requirements

Responsibilities including but not limited to:
