Responsibilities

• The Inspector works under the direction of the Chief Inspector and may be assigned additional responsibilities as required.
• Acts as a representative of the Company, establishing professional business relationships with contractors, suppliers, vendors, stakeholders, and Company personnel.
• Maintains an ethical conduct, aware of Company policies regarding gifts, entertainment, trips, etc., offered by contractors, vendors, or suppliers.
• Provides quality assurance by inspecting work and materials for conformance to requirements, following Company specifications and approved construction drawings.
• Inspects work performed by independent contractors who are free to select means, methods, and manner to perform the work; the Inspector does not direct or supervise.
• Has Stop Work Authority; must shut down unsafe work.
• Completes required documentation in a timely, concise, and accurate manner.
• Receives frequent instruction from the superior; work is checked frequently by the Chief Inspector or delegate.
• Does not inspect work it is not qualified to inspect or sign reports for work it has not inspected.
