Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace in Westfield seeks an Inspector A&P to support the interior team, handling removal and installations for maintenance and refurbishing activities. The role requires the ability to raise and lower components up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, stands, and lifts, with occasional work in confined spaces.

Candidates must have strong computer skills, the ability to research in 3D models, and FAA A&P certification, with at least six years of aviation maintenance experience in avionics,

Qualifications

  • Requires High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 6 years aviation maintenance experience (avionics, electrical, and/or mechanical).
  • FAA A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) license required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality control inspections on aircraft and components.
  • Inspect repairs and alterations for conformity to FAA data.
  • Coordinate mechanical, electrical and inspection requirements during maintenance or outfitting.
  • Maintain accurate, neat records of work performed on aircraft/components.
  • Coordinate with RTS to ensure timely, accurate aircraft records.
  • Audit maintenance documentation for accuracy and completion prior to return to service.
  • Ensure aircraft/components are airworthy before flight activities.
  • Mentor technicians on documentation practices.
  • Communicate with management to identify work assignments and delivery schedules.
  • Provide technical support to inspection personnel complying with FAA and CAA requirements.

Inspector A&Pin GAC Westfield

Overview

The primary role of this position is to support the interior team. This will include removal and installations for maintenance as well as refurbishing activities. Candidate must have strong computer skills and ability to research in 3D models. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to climb ladders, stands, lifts, etc. Must occasionally work in confined spaces.

Compensation

Base hourly rate $39.83 - $46.47 per hour. Final compensation determined by various factors.

Qualifications

Responsibilities
  1. Responsible for Quality Control inspections on aircraft/components.
  2. Completes inspections of aircraft, engine, and component repairs and alterations to ensure conformity to FAA approved/acceptable data.
  3. Coordinates mechanical, electrical and inspection requirements on the aircraft during maintenance or outfitting.
  4. Keeps accurate, neat and legible records of the work performed on aircraft/components.
  5. Coordinates throughout assigned jobs with RTS to ensure accurate aircraft records are produced in a timely manner.
  6. Conducts audits of maintenance documentation for accuracy and completion on all aircraft prior to approval for return to service.
  7. Ensures aircraft/components are airworthy prior to any flight activities.
  8. Mentors technicians on effective documentation.

  2. Provides technical support to inspection personnel in supporting the FAA and/or CAA documented requirements.
Additional Requirements
  1. Strong computer skills.
  2. Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation, shop mathematics and QC Procedures.
  3. Working knowledge and application of Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control systems and methodologies.
  4. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
