Job summary

An aviation maintenance leader located in Houston, Texas is seeking an experienced Airframe Inspector with a valid FAA A&P license. The candidate will be responsible for inspecting aircraft structures and ensuring compliance with regulations while documenting findings and certifying aircraft for return to service. A minimum of 3 years experience in a heavy maintenance environment is required. The position offers comprehensive healthcare and a relocation bonus.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Aircraft Mechanic performing detailed inspections.
  • Prior/Current experience working in an MRO, overhaul depot, or heavy maintenance.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Job description

Airframe Inspector, A&P (RTS)

Responsible for ensuring the airworthiness and safety of aircraft structures by performing detailed inspections during maintenance, repair, and modifications, verifying compliance with FAA regulations, technical manuals, and quality standards, documenting findings, and certifying aircraft for return to service.

What You’ll Do:
  • Inspect all types of aircraft (including engines, electrical instruments, structures, controls, environmental control systems, landing gear, accessories, etc.) before, during, and after maintenance
  • Determine the serviceability of aircraft systems, parts, and components using precision measuring guides, gauges, instruments, measuring devices, magnification, and non‑destructive testing (if appropriately certified)
  • Accomplish preliminary, hidden damage, in‑process, and final inspection of all articles repaired, maintained, inspected, or altered by the facility
  • Provide procedural guidance to technicians and delegated inspectors
  • Train and assist technicians in proper work procedures and practices
  • Monitor work in progress to ensure proper paperwork, procedures, techniques, and methods as prescribed by maintenance manuals, overhaul manuals, approved engineering documents, and other FAA approved data are used
  • Document inspection results in inspection paperwork and log books
  • Accomplish final review of work order documentation prior to final release of articles
  • Ensure that work performed is accurately reflected on the work order
  • Research logbooks, and prepare logbook entries and sign‑offs for approval for Return to Service (RTS)
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of required maintenance and inspections for customers and coordinate efforts to ensure a timely turnaround
Position Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Aircraft Mechanic performing detailed inspections
  • Prior/Current experience working in an MRO, overhaul depot, or heavy maintenance environment
  • Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Preferred Characteristics:
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) Certification
  • Previous experience performing return‑to‑service inspections on corporate aircraft
  • Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) certification, experience or training
  • Minimum of 5 years of verifiable A&P experience with any/all of the aforementioned aircraft
