Job Description

Basic Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
2. 3 years Inspection experience in a Manufacturing environment.
3. Ability and willingness to use intermediate hand tools (dremel/cut off tooling) and measuring devices (i.e. - dial calipers, rulers, tape measures, protractors, micrometers, gauges, etc.) as required within department.
4. Intermediate understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation, including functional knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
5. Ability and willingness to perform mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, etc.), may have to perform metric conversions, conversions to decimals, and use geometry.
6. Knowledge of NDT inspection, Source Inspection, and Mechanical inspection.
7. Knowledge of electrical setup and troubleshooting.
8. Willingness and ability to obtain Weld, Braze, and other inspection certifications as required.
9. Ability and willingness to pass visual acuity exam upon offer.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

1. Develop familiarity with Final Assembly Electrical test, Final Production Inspection test, Final Assembly Mechanical Inspection, FPI or X-ray Inspection, and Source Inspection as required by the department.
2. Develop strong understanding of GD&T and advanced measurement principles.
3. Blueprint interpretation, electrical inspection, mechanical inspection, and procedural knowledge assessment completed.
4. Utilize manual or automated measurement and testing equipment to assure quality of products.
5. Identify and document non-conforming parts, while using Oracle to maintain inspection records.
6. Inspect all raw materials and purchased parts to determine conformance to design requirement.
7. Use statistical process control and statistical quality control techniques as required.
8. Perform job responsibilities according to internal process specifications and third-party requirements.
9. Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures.
10. Assist support functions in root cause analysis.
11. Must be able to multi-task and work within deadlines.
12. Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of products.
13. Use manual and automated measuring/testing equipment to assure product quality.
14. Cross-train with employees as needed based upon knowledge and experience.
15. Compliantly complete all written and/or electronic labor tracking documentation.
16. Report problems to appropriate resource and/or Coach.
17. Keep all shift operators informed on special problems involving operation or set up.
18. Communicate with team to ensure all team members are aware of product deficiencies, new processes, or issues. Provide feedback to appropriate support functions.
19. Assist leading and support team initiatives.
20. Exemplifies and coaches others on the GE Leadership behaviors.
21. Participate in Careful Selection process.
22. Interaction with internal and/or external customers and support functions (i.e. Planners, Engineering, Suppliers) outside of home department.
23. Provide feedback to appropriate support functions.

Desired Qualifications:

1. Vocational / Trade School.
2. Prior expertise in customer requirements.
3. Aerospace Manufacturing experience.
4. Aptitude for mechanical problem solving.
5. Proficiency in understanding special process operations (e.g., brazing/soldering/welding/coating, etc.) as required within department.
6. Possess knowledge of Quality System requirements (i.e., AS9100).
7. Experience in a self-directed team environment; Lean manufacturing knowledge.
8. 3-5 years Inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
9. Demonstrates ability to work effectively in a team environment.

The pay for this position is $24.70/hr. plus $2/hr. for the shift difference. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on 4/30/25.
