Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is seeking an Inspector - 2nd Shift in Waukesha, WI to perform transformer/regulator inspections and electrical testing per established procedures. Primary hours are 3pm–11pm, with potential overtime. Eligible benefits include health, vacation, and retirement programs, with a $2,000 sign-on bonus paid in installments.

The role involves tests, quality checks, data collection, and collaboration with engineering and manufacturing to resolve issues on the shop floor.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical tests per established procedures (ratio, resistance, continuity, hipot, impulse, power factor, etc.).

• Conduct visual inspection of units during assembly processes.
• Complete weekly oil sample tests and perform routine maintenance on test equipment.
• Assist Engineering and Manufacturing in resolving shop floor problems.
• Document inspection results and collect data per procedures.

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Inspector - 2nd Shift to join our team on Lincoln Ave in Waukesha, WI.

The hourly rate for this position is $24.45 + $2.50 shift premium per hour.

The core hours are 3pm - 11pm. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times.

This position is offering a sign-on bonus of $2,000* paid in two installments, less applicable withholding.

What You’ll Do

Primary Function

The Inspector C performs assembly inspections of transformers/regulators at various locations in the assembly plants per established procedures. Perform electrical testing on assembled single and three-phase transformers/regulators per established procedures. Monitor conformance to quality standards.

In This Function, You Will

• Perform the following tests as required per established procedures but not limited to: ratio (variety), resistance (variety), continuity, VFI, CT, and hipot (applied potential), OX (induced), impulse, power factor, load loss, and core loss
• Inspection of unit nameplates, stamp impedance value on nameplates, and secure nameplates to tested units.
• Perform visual inspection of units throughout the assembly process per established procedures; including but not limited to: Inspection of core/coil, interior of unit, paint millage, exterior of unit, and decal/stencil placement.
• Complete weekly oil sample tests.
• Perform minor maintenance of test equipment.
• Perform special routine tests when required.
• Assisting Engineering and Manufacturing in identifying and resolving shop floor problems.
• Completing various company forms to communicate inspection status and other information and to document inspection results per established procedures.
• Collecting various types of data per established procedures as require.
• Understand and follow the EQMS policies.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of (1) One year of manufacturing experience.
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-duty military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education in AC/DC fundamentals, or equivalent knowledge of electrical prints / schematics (minimum of 1 year)
• Previous experience in electrical inspection / troubleshooting, or equivalent experience in electronics or electrical assembly, HVAC, or variable frequency drive assembly.
• Minimum of one year of transformer or electronics and electrical testing experience.
