Job summary

  • Review shipments for completeness and accuracy and sign off on shipper documents.

Position Summary

Inspectors use a variety of tools and equipment to measure, gage, and otherwise ensure that manufactured parts remain within precise tolerances. Responsible for completing first piece, in process, and final inspections. They are also responsible for communicating with other departments to help identify quality issues during the manufacturing process and identify areas of improvement for production processes. To succeed in this role, candidates must be detail oriented, analytical, team players, and always willing to learn and expand their knowledge base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Job type: On-site.
  • Work Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 6:00am-4:30pm (10 hour shifts).
  • Overtime: Based on current business needs. Some Friday overtime may be mandatory for this role.
  • Performs 1stpiece, in process, and final inspections on close tolerance machined parts.
    • Verify & understand how to measure stock material on parts in early operations.
    • Understand a customer drawing including all GD&T.
    • Set gage blocks and set gages as needed.
    • Retrieve & run CMM programs needed for part inspection.
    • Record dimensions in UNIX (ERP system) on 1st piece sheets.
    • Understand AQL levels.
    • Verify parts meet all customer requirements as called out on the drawing.
    • Review purchase orders (P.O.) for any special requirements.
    • Create a Final Inspection Report.
    • Verify and approve any applicable part marking.
    • Visual inspections.
  • Create first article inspection reports.
    • Using AS9102C layout, complete Forms 1,2, and 3 in UNIX/ProShop (ERP systems).
    • Know where and how to retrieve material and process certs.
    • Approve and take a photo of part marking.
  • Verify and approve shippers.
    • Review shippers for completeness and accuracy. (Correct part#, P.O.#, revision level, quantity, line#, etc.)
    • Apply your signature of approval to shipper.
    • Understand how to use/ navigate customer websites for product release.
  • Uses and reads various inspection equipment to measure parts.
    • CMM.
    • Comparator.
    • Micrometers.
    • Calipers.
    • Height gages.
    • Ring gages.
    • Marposs gages.
    • Flatness gages.
  • Identifies and controls non-conforming product in accordance with procedures.
  • Maintains equipment and work environment in good order.
  • Communicates effectively within department and with other departments.
  • Follow all aerospace quality standards, safety procedures, and company policies.
Requirements
  • Truline is a nicotine and drug-free workplace. Applicants selected for hire will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug test. Continued employment is conditioned upon compliance with Truline’s nicotine and drug-free workplace policies, including any required testing.
  • Attendance: The first 90 days of employment are considered a probationary period. During this time no PTO is accrued, and you have a maximum of 20 unpaid hours (2 full working days) off. Missing more than 20 hours of work during the first 90 days of employment would result in termination. There are no exceptions to this policy.
  • At least one year of manufacturing experience.

  • CMM-Manager experience.
  • One year of manufacturing experience in the aerospace industry.
Benefits
  • Starting pay rate: The starting pay for this role is $22/hr for entry-level candidates, with higher starting rates available for those with relevant industry experience. Rate will be evaluated over the course of the first 90 days, with further performance-based raises possible in the future.
  • 401k matching: Truline will match 100% of contributions up to 10% of an employee’s pay, eligibility to join the company retirement plan starts on January 1st following the hire date of an employee.
  • 100% employer funded healthcare (the company will cover monthly costs and the deductible, but employees will be responsible for some co-payments). Eligibility begins on the first of the month after employment.
  • Dental coverage. Eligibility begins on the first of the month after employment.
  • Free eye exam once per year.

  • Upon completion of the 1st year of employment, employees accrue 120 hours PTO per year, with further increases based on length of employment.
