Job summary

Connections Personnel in Springfield, NJ is seeking Inspectors for direct hire to perform complex inspections of parts and assemblies, using precision gauges and CMM equipment. The role requires attention to detail, the ability to interpret blueprints, and coordination with production teams.

Under limited supervision, you will document results, resolve inspection problems, and potentially lead other inspectors. US persons criteria apply and pre-employment screening is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Interact with Engineering, Assembly/Test and Operations to resolve quality issues.

Connections Personnel is hiring for a Direct Hire Inspectors for a company located in Springfield, NJ. Company manufactures fluid control components and motion control components. Any experience working for a company that manufactures aerospace or military components A+.

JOB SUMMARY

Under limited supervision, performs the inspection of the most complex parts and assemblies. Inspector A requires the mechanical ability and experience to perform inspections of simple electrical, complex mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic components and assemblies. In addition, they perform complicated layout inspection for the first piece, in process and final inspection. Inspector A makes decisions regarding inspection problems and skillfully uses all inspection gauges and instruments, including their set up, analysis and adjustment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Performs required inspections of complex parts and assemblies using complicated blueprints, sketches, written and/or verbal specifications.
  • Documents inspection results and makes decisions regarding inspection problems.
  • Skillfully uses all inspection gauges and instruments, including their set up, analysis and adjustment.
  • Calibrates measuring gauges and equipment as directed.
  • May lead and assist other inspectors and make set ups for their use.
  • Moves parts and materials to and from work area.
  • Works closely with Engineering, Assembly/Test and Operations to resolve quality issues.
  • May be Level I Operator or Level II Inspector in one or more of the following areas: liquid penetrant, utlars-sonic or eddy currents.
  • Must pass required eye tests and will be subject to the random drug and alcohol testing program.
  • Required to follow company policies (Safety, Attendance etc).
  • Maintains a clean well organized work area.
  • Interact with organizational team members and other departments in a professional manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, advanced technical education preferred.
  • Requires five years’ experience as an inspector with demonstrated acceptable performance of the required inspection operations.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
REQUISITE SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Works from complicated blueprints, sketches, written and/or verbal specifications.
  • Requires the use of standard shop math, including trigonometry and geometry, and a full knowledge of machine shop and assembly operations.
  • Understanding of basic electronics, pneumatics and hydraulics.
EQUIPIMENT/MACHINERY USED

Experience in using basic and advanced inspection tools and gauges, plus experience with CMM and other currently used inspection equipment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Lifting up to 50lbs regularly and 75lbs occasionally, pushing, pulling, standing for long periods of time, manual dexterity, visual acuity, and typing.

All candidates must meet the US persons criteria.
