Job summary

Milwaukee Precision Casting, Inc. seeks an Inspector in the Finishing department to perform visual inspections and rework parts according to process sheets and instructions. You will fill scrap reports, follow safety rules, and help ensure quality by understanding defect types such as excess metal, non-fill, broken, and cut-off/grinding damage.

Basic reading and writing skills are required; on‑the‑job training provided. This on-site role reports to the Finishing Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Performs visual inspections and reworks parts per inspection instructions on process sheet, inspection files or instructions given from Quality Manager or Plant Manager.
  2. Fills out scrap report.
  3. Obeys safety rules.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • N/A
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • On the job training.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Must have basic reading and writing skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • No physical limitations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • As provided.
COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Able to understand all production/process documents and fill them out correctly.
  2. Able to inspect per the grade requirements of the part (i.e. to not over-inspect or lettoo many defects go).
  3. Able to understand difference between the following casting defects: excess metal,non-fill, broken, and cut-off/grinding damage.
