Job description

Step into a high-stakes, precision-driven environment where fractions of a thousandth of an inch make all the difference! We are searching for an eagle-eyed Dimensional Inspector ready to push the envelope in quality verification for flight-critical and high-reliability components. In this role, you will be the front line of defense against defects, performing end-to-end Metrology dimensional inspection routines across complex, contoured parts. You will leverage advanced 3D CAD models, decode complex GD&T requirements, and apply shop-floor trigonomotry to ensure every component adheres to strict ASME and aerospace standards. If you bring relentless attention to detail, love dissecting complex geometry, and want your quality stamp on hardware that truly matters, this is your next challenge!

  • Benefits and CompensationCompetitive Pay: $26-$32/hr DOE to start! If you are transitioning from another HR Coordinator role, we offer great starting rates for our 1st shift hours.

  • Comprehensive Benefits: Includes premium health insurance (medical, dental, vision) and eligibility for an incentive recognition bonus program.

Responsibilities Include
  • Execute High-Precision Metrology: Conduct comprehensive Metrology dimensional inspection routines on tight-tolerance machined and molded parts using precision bench gages, height stands, optical comparators, and automated coordinate measuring systems.

  • Lead Comprehensive FAI Packages: Prepare, execute, and document formal First article inspections in strict compliance with AS9102 aerospace standard protocols and customer-specific packages.

  • Oversee Release Standards: Perform detailed final inspections on completed production runs, verifying documentation packages, part finishes, and critical dimensions prior to customer release.

  • Translate Engineering Intent: Interrogate 3D CAD models directly to establish measuring reference planes, identify datums, and verify that manufactured parts fulfill all explicit GD&T requirements.

  • Apply Advanced Shop Math: Utilize practical trigonomotry to calculate compound angles, pitch circle diameters, and coordinate offsets during non-routine setups and manual layout checks.

  • Enforce Design Rules: Ensure all inspection layouts and drawing interpretations adhere rigorously to ASME Y14.5 design principles and geometric definitions.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Deep Metrology Background: Proven expertise in Metrology dimensional inspection, including proficiency with surface plates, indicators, micrometers, bore gages, and CMM inspection routines.

  • Aerospace Documentation Mastery: Direct, proven track record compiling and validating First article inspections conforming to AS9102 industry forms and client quality portals.

  • Rigorous Sign-off Capability: Solid background conducting in-process and final inspections within an ISO 9001, AS9100, or medical device quality management system.

  • Blueprint & Standard Fluency: Expert-level mastery of GD&T requirements and strict compliance with the ASME standard family (specifically ASME Y14.5).

  • Model-Based Definition Skills: Ability to interrogate native 3D CAD assemblies, extract nominal coordinates, and cross-reference them against real-world manufactured geometry.

  • Mathematical Acumen: Confident working knowledge of blueprint math and shop-floor trigonomotry for sine plate setups, tapers, and true position calculations.

  • Familiarity with AS9102 Standards: Deep working understanding of ballooned drawings, characteristic accountability sheets, and compliance verification under AS9102.

What's in It for You
  • Critical Mission Impact: Take pride in executing final inspections and First article inspections on mission-critical components where precision is non-negotiable.

  • Advanced Technology Access: Work directly with cutting-edge measurement software, modern digital instruments, and 3D CAD data systems.

  • Culture of Excellence: Collaborate with a gritty, high-performing team that honors technical expertise, rewards dedication to quality, and supports professional advancement.
