DeKalb County Government in Decatur, GA seeks a Supervising Inspector to lead residential and commercial construction reviews, supervise inspection staff, and ensure code compliance. This safety-sensitive role requires coordinating schedules, maintaining records, training inspectors, and ensuring vehicle readiness; position includes drug testing per policy.
Requires an Associate degree in Engineering or Construction Management and at least five years of inspection or construction management
Vacancy is in the CIP (Watershed Management).
Salary Range: $27.46/hour - $44.21/hour. FLSA: Nonexempt.
The purpose of this classification is to supervise the review of residential and commercial construction, to supervise inspection staff, and to ensure inspections are performed in accordance with applicable codes.
This classification is safety sensitive, subject to random drug testing in accordance with the County’s Drug & Alcohol Policy.

Associate degree in Engineering or Construction Management or a related field required; five years of experience in inspections, engineering or construction management to include lead or supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this classification.
