Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule inspections for elevator and escalator systems.
  • Provide technical guidance to inspectors and other staff.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to verify compliance with safety codes and regulations.
  • Examine elevator and escalator work plans and specifications to ensure they meet code requirements.
  • Prepare detailed reports on inspection findings, deficiencies, and required corrective actions.
  • Follow up on previously identified violations to confirm necessary repairs are completed.
  • Clearly communicate inspection results and requirements to building owners, maintenance personnel, and regulatory authorities.
  • Maintain records using relevant software and mobile devices.
  • Prepare reports and present findings in court or administrative hearings when necessary

Job description

Salary Range: $45,000.00 To $55,000.00 Annually

This role involves coordinating schedules, documenting findings, communication with relevant parties, and ensuring corrective actions are taken.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical principles of elevators, escalators, and related equipment.
  • Attention to detail: Strong ability to identify potential hazards, defects, and code violations.
  • Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders.
  • Organizational skills: Strong ability to manage a workload, coordinate schedules, and maintain detailed records.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience:Previous experience in elevator inspection, installation, repair, or maintenance is required.
  • Code expertise: In-depth knowledge of state and local elevator codes and regulations, such as the American National Standard Safety Code for Elevators.
  • Blueprint comprehension: Ability to read and interpret architectural, engineering, and installation drawings.
