Job summary

Clean Harbors is seeking an Environmental General Laborer for the 3rd shift at a customer site in Jeffersonville, OH. The role involves hazardous waste cleanup, decontamination and handling of hazardous materials, with a 12-hour, 2-on/2-off and 3-on/2-off schedule (6pm–6am) and every other weekend.

Responsibilities include unloading and loading waste, warehouse stocking, prep of loads for shipment, and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the top priority and follow safe work practices.
• Unload containerized waste from route trucks.
• Reload route trucks with supplies and equipment for next day.
• Ensure waste and containers are in acceptable shipping condition for transport.
• Stock the warehouse with received materials.
• Prepare waste loads for shipment.
• Maintain branch housekeeping and cleanliness.
• Operate drums of solvent mineral spirits safely.
• Perform minor repairs on parts washers.
• Observe third party bulk liquid transfers.
• Assist with inventory counts at the warehouse.
• Follow local, state and federal compliance regulations.
• Safely operate vehicles per DOT and company policies.

Clean Harbors In Jeffersonville, OH is seeking a Environmental General Laborer (3rd shift) to join our safety conscious team. This role will be active in the field responsible for the performance of tasks associated with hazardous waste clean-up, equipment decontamination and handling of hazardous materials.

Please note This position will be on a Pitman Schedule- 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off 12hr shifts 6pm-6am with working every other weekend.

This position will be at one of our customer sites in Jeffersonville, OH

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and always acting in a safe manner
• Unload containerized waste from the route trucks
• Reload route trucks with supplies and equipment for next day's runs
• Ensures all waste and containers are in acceptable shipping condition and organized for transport to recycle or distribution centers
• Stock the warehouse with received materials
• Prepare waste loads for shipment
• Housekeeping in the branch (painting, picking up trash, sweeping, cleaning, straightening)
• Empty and fill drums of solvent mineral spirits
• Perform minor repairs on parts washers at the warehouse
• Observe third party bulk liquid transfers
• Assist with inventory count at warehouse
• Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules
• Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements
• Safely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures
• Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned
