Job summary

Yahoo Holdings Inc. is seeking an Insights Lead to steer development of market insights and narrative storytelling for key client verticals, bridging complex data ecosystems with executive-level sales execution.

You will apply digital advertising research, leverage AI tools to accelerate synthesis, automate workflows, and create repeatable templates for self-serve sales resources, collaborating with BI and data engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience in consumer insights, media analytics, or market research with strong customer-facing, consultative expertise within the digital advertising, media publisher, or agency ecosystem.
• Demonstrated track record leading consultative research initiatives that directly support enterprise sales, client growth, or brand marketing strategies.
• Hands-on experience using generative AI platforms and structured prompting to accelerate qualitative and quantitative research synthesis, report summarization, or workflow automation.
• Strong proficiency with digital advertising measurement frameworks, audience segmentation, and syndicated market research tools (e.g., Comscore, MRI-Simmons, GWI, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders in Ad Sales and Go-to-Market Strategy teams to gather insights needs about industries, audiences and media consumption trends, that inform sales narratives and client pitches.
• Select and apply appropriate data collection methods leveraging a combination of quantitative methodologies: data mining, analytics, and primary or secondary research.
• Formulate and execute quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, identify consumer trends by mining Yahoo first-party data; leverage syndicated intelligence tools for audience sizing and consumer profiling.
• Identify and implement AI-assisted workflows to rapidly analyze, summarize, and cross-reference multi-source industry research, cutting narrative turnaround time while elevating narrative depth.
• Architect and validate repeatable, AI-augmented analytical templates and self-serve resources that equip sales teams to answer complex vertical questions independently.
• Collaborate with internal Business Intelligence and Data Engineering teams to define requirements for automated reporting pipelines, client dashboards, and advanced attribution tools.
• Translate complex data and consumer behavioral shifts into visually compelling executive presentations, collateral, and external-facing industry case studies.

A Lot About You / About the Role

We are seeking a consultative, strategically minded Insights Lead to steer insights development and commercial storytelling for key client verticals. In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex data ecosystems and executive-level sales execution. You bring deep expertise in digital advertising research, combined with an open, experimental mindset toward leveraging modern AI tools to accelerate market synthesis, automate repetitive research workflows, and uncover differentiated trends. You exercise exceptional analytical judgment-understanding not only how to extract valuable signals from complex datasets, but also how to validate, govern, and package them into compelling market-facing narratives or Yahoo Ads' suite of products.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with SQL or other data extraction languages and tools (e.g., R, Python).
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
• Demonstrated proficiency using AI tools (e.g., Claude, NotebookLM) to accelerate analysis, synthesize research, and develop sales-facing tools and interfaces.
• Proficiency in syndicated research tools (e.g. Comscore, MRI, Simmons, GWI, etc.).
• A solid combination of analytical and communication skills, with a keen attention to detail and a strong commitment to ensuring data accuracy.
• Deep experience designing primary research studies, survey instruments (e.g., Qualtrics), and managing third-party research vendor partnerships.
• Proven ability to operate autonomously in ambiguous, high-growth environments, with a strong focus on continuous learning, workflow innovation, and data integrity.

The compensation for this position ranges from $90,750.00 - $188,750.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
