Job description

The Insights Associate plays a critical role in onboarding, analyzing, and interpreting Carbon Arc's proprietary data assets to deliver actionable insights across companies, industries, and geographies. This role sits at the intersection of data analysis, financial context, and client engagement.

You will guide new data assets through a developing pipeline and work closely with investor clients to interpret trends, validate signals, and understand limitations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys translating complex data into clear narratives and helping clients make better decisions grounded in real-world context.

What You'll Do
  • • Guide data assets through the full pipeline—from ingestion and cleaning to aggregation—ensuring accuracy and readiness for metric resolution
  • • Build client-facing documentation and enhance internal tools to improve cross-team understanding of data assets
  • • Derive and communicate insights on individual companies, industries, and geographies using proprietary data assets through direct client conversations
  • • Support investor presentations by helping clients interpret trends across multiple data assets and identify key takeaways
  • • Demonstrate data modeling of company-reported metrics, highlighting nuances, limitations, and potential blind spots at both the company and data-asset level
  • • Back-test data assets against company-reported or government-reported KPIs to validate accuracy and performance
  • • Process and interpret financial information from SEC filings, company presentations, and relevant news sources
  • • Incorporate real-world factors that influence how data aligns with reported results, making appropriate modeling recommendations
  • • Leverage deep company-level knowledge to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of Carbon Arc's data assets
  • • Support special projects, presentations, and reports as needed
What You'll Bring
  • • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • • 2–4 years of experience in equity research, consulting, finance, or data-driven business analysis
  • • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and contextualize complex data
  • • Familiarity with SQL and Python (preferred)
  • • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • • Clear written and verbal communication skills, especially when explaining data-driven insights to clients
Nice to Have
  • • Experience working directly with investor or institutional clients
  • • Exposure to a variety of modeling approaches for financial or economic analysis
  • • Experience building presentation materials, reports, or investment memos
  • • Familiarity with public-market KPIs and financial statement analysis
What We Offer
  • • Fully paid healthcare benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision)
  • • Remote work options
  • • 401(k) plan with employer contributions
  • • Paid time off
  • • Generous parental and family leave policies
  • • Challenging problems to tackle with a supportive, entrepreneurially driven team
  • • A strong work culture centered on integrity, excellence, truth, trust, and transparency
