Job summary

Amazon Security seeks a Security Engineer II for its Enterprise Protection Program in Virginia. You will evaluate and mitigate insider risks, dive deep into data, and develop analytics, detection, and prevention opportunities, while producing executive summaries for leadership.

The role requires strong communication, collaboration across teams, and on-call duty (one week every six months). You will work with cutting-edge security technologies with cross-functional partners to strengthen

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent is required.
2+ years of IT security experience.
Experience implementing security solutions at the cross-team level.
2+ years of troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating basic tasks using command line tools (non-internship).
Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP.

Responsibilities

Independently investigate complex cyber-aligned insider threat issues.
Perform deep dive analysis of internal and external datasets to identify trends and anomalies.
Author comprehensive, clear summaries of complex incidents.
Assist with identifying and driving opportunities to automate and optimize insider risk analytics, tooling, and processes.
Identify and mitigate insider risk by collaborating with other Amazon Security teams and external partners.
