Stickley is seeking an Inside Upholsterer - Tufting to join our Archdale, North Carolina upholstery team. This hands‑on role offers training and coaching to develop high‑quality upholstery techniques for premium furniture.

You will read tickets, upholster fabric or leather, tuft by hand or machine, and ensure fit, finish, and craftsmanship meet Stickley standards. Join a team that values attention to detail and pride in lasting furniture.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Stickley is seeking an Inside Upholsterer - Tufting to join our Upholstery Manufacturing team in Archdale, North Carolina. We welcome experienced upholsterers as well as motivated individuals who are eager to learn. For the right candidate, Stickley provides hands‑on training, coaching, and support to develop the specialized skills needed to create high‑quality upholstered furniture.

This is a hands‑on role where your work directly impacts the comfort, appearance, and quality of every piece produced. You will be part of a skilled manufacturing team that values craftsmanship, attention to detail, and pride in building furniture designed to last for generations.

What You'll Do

• Read production tickets, work orders, and special instructions to complete each piece accurately
• Perform inside upholstery work on fine custom furniture using fabric and leather
• Apply cotton, rubber, padding, and other materials to seats, inside backs, and arms
• Upholster fabric or leather smoothly and securely to ensure proper fit and finish
• Perform hand‑tufting or machine‑tufting work according to product specifications
• Create clean, consistent pleats, tufting, and finished details
• Learn and apply Stickley's upholstery methods, quality standards, and craftsmanship expectations
• Safely use upholstery tools and equipment, including staple guns, scissors, regulators, button needles, staple pullers, pliers, and measuring tools
• Meet production schedules while maintaining a high level of quality and craftsmanship
• Inspect completed work and make corrections when needed
• Scan completed and approved pieces according to established procedures
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Work collaboratively with team members and other production departments

What You'll Bring

• Experience in upholstery, furniture manufacturing, sewing, woodworking, or another hands‑on skilled trade is preferred
• Experience with inside upholstery, hand‑tufting, or machine‑tufting is a plus
• Experience working with fabric and/or leather is preferred
• Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
• Good hand‑eye coordination and the ability to work accurately with hand tools
• Ability to follow work instructions, measurements, and product specifications
• Dependability, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
