As a Diagnostic Inside Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for prospecting, qualifying leads, and closing sales for IDEXX’s Rapid Assay, Chemistry, and Fecal businesses through phone, email, and virtual meetings with customers. You will collaborate with the field-based Veterinary Diagnostic Consultants (VDCs) in your assigned geography to prioritize opportunities to generate revenue through adoption, utilization, and conversion of select products in the IDEXX portfolio. Building strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and presenting tailored solutions to drive business growth will be key. You will partner with the broader commercial ecosystem to ensure successful implementation and conversion of growth initiatives. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, a strong sales mindset, and a drive for meeting and exceeding targets. The primary success metric for this position is quarterly revenue closed during sales calls.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

  1. Using sales tools to maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities in a high-volume outbound calling and email environment.
  2. Collaborating with Veterinary Diagnostic Consultants (VDCs) in your territory to prioritize customer opportunities and develop customer plans.
  3. Leading sales conversations within your territory, handling opportunity identification, gaining agreement, closing sales, and ensuring ongoing customer engagement.
  4. Developing and maintaining leads for the IDEXX sales ecosystem in your territory.
  5. Collaborating with the Companion Animal Group (CAG) Commercial field team to promote adoption, utilization, and conversion of IDEXX products and services, including delivering customer training and education.
  6. Achieving quarterly and annual sales quotas.
  7. Positively promoting and representing the IDEXX brand.

What you need to succeed:

  • 5+ years’ experience selling products/services to customers primarily via telephone and internet (chat, email, video conferencing, etc.)
  • Diagnostic or life sciences sales experience preferred.
  • Experience developing new accounts and generating new business from existing accounts, executing core activities with some guidance.
  • Experience pursuing sales leads within an assigned territory, aligned with the field ecosystem.
  • Experience executing sales strategies, identifying new opportunities, and leveraging sales tools to achieve outcomes.
