Job summary

Ferguson is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to join our Greenville, NC team. This role handles detailed pricing, supports bids, and provides product information to field staff, ensuring smooth order processing and customer solutions.

You’ll work across warehouse, yard, and sales counter while coordinating with internal teams to resolve issues and drive sales. Starting hourly pay begins around $23 with potential for higher based on experience.

Qualifications

1–3 years in sales support or customer service.
Experience in Waterworks or Construction is a plus.
Able to perform physically demanding work.
Comfortable switching between warehouse, yard, counter and admin duties.
Experience in a target-driven sales environment preferred.
Knowledge of sales techniques such as prospecting, negotiation, closing.
Strong organizational and project management skills.

Responsibilities

Prepare and manage detailed pricing proposals and quotations.
Support new sales opportunities by monitoring bids and researching projects.
Provide product and technical information to outside sales representatives.
Develop and maintain customer documentation with product details.
Liaise between customers and internal teams to ensure timely order fulfillment.
Oversee the full Order-to-Invoice cycle and ensure quality standards.
Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
Maintain regular attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
Role involves training and working in the warehouse, yard, and at the sales counter.

Prepare and manage detailed pricing proposals and quotations for products and services across various projects.
Support new sales opportunities by monitoring bids, researching projects, and assisting with prospecting efforts.
Provide product and technical information to outside sales representatives, supporting efforts to generate sales in the utility market segment.
Develop and maintain customer documentation that outlines product information and solution details.
Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams, ensuring effective communication, timely order fulfillment, and resolution of technical or service-related issues.
Oversee and support the full Order-to-Invoice cycle, ensuring quality standards are upheld and all corrective actions and field quality reports are managed effectively.
Ensure compliance with company policies, including Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements.
Maintain regular, reliable attendance and complete other duties as assigned.
This role involves training and working in the warehouse, yard, and at the sales counter.

Qualifications:

1 - 3 years of experience in a sales support, customer service, or related role.
Experience in Waterworks or Construction is a plus
Must be comfortable performing physically demanding work
Ability to transition between warehouse, yard, counter, and administrative duties as needed
Experience in a target-driven sales environment preferred.
Developing knowledge of sales techniques such as prospecting, negotiation, persuasion, and closing.
Strong organizational and project management skills; experience in project management is a plus

Pay Range:$17.77 - $28.42
Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
Ferguson complies with all wage regulations. The starting wage may be higher in certain locations based on local or state wage requirements.
