The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for placing proactive outbound calls to established accounts and potential prospects. They have an assigned territory or accounts, and are responsible for developing, maintaining, and implementing long-term business partnerships with assigned accounts. This position is responsible for driving revenue growth and customer satisfaction by assisting accounts using both incoming and outbound sales strategies and superior customer service skills.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Partner with the respective Territory Manager on sales strategies to maximize revenue with assigned and prospective accounts.
  2. Answer incoming calls from assigned accounts to take sales orders and/or handle customer service issues.
  3. Initiate proactive calls to established accounts in order to grow sales revenue and develop customer loyalty.
  4. Assist accounts in the research and purchase of items that are both stocked and non-stocked by Animal Health and manufacturer partners.
  5. Deliver excellent customer service by communicating with purchasers and utilizing reference materials, as needed, to follow through with accounts.
  6. Assist accounts with questions or concerns while maintaining a professional and friendly attitude.
  7. Assist accounts with the return of incorrect or damaged merchandise within the guidelines established by Animal Health and the manufacturers we represent.
  8. Attend weekly sales meetings to keep informed on new products, industry changes, and updates within Animal Health.
  9. May process orders for a Territory Manager (TM).
  10. Monitor backorder status for accounts.
  11. Share relevant information regarding assigned territory or accounts with TM partner.
  12. Contact accounts to gather information, offer specials and programs, and communicate industry updates that benefit the account and the company.
  13. Support general queue sales calls as needed.
  14. Travel requirements are minimal.
Experience and Educational Requirements:

Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology or bachelor’s degree in an animal health field or equivalent agricultural degree is preferred. Three years’ experience working in a veterinary clinic or two or more years of progressively responsible experience in an animal health call center environment is necessary.

  • Customer service orientation: responsive to customer needs, establishes effective relationships, and takes appropriate actions.
  • Sense of urgency: responds quickly to operational changes related to department priorities.
  • Self-motivation: develops objectives and strategies for personal achievement.
  • Work commitment: pursues goals persistently and exerts extra effort when needed.

Full-time salary range: $42,600 - $60,940. Actual salary may vary based on location and specific state adjustments.
