SUMMARY

BakeMark USA is the leading national bakery ingredients and product distributor. Inside Sales Representatives (ISR) grow sales of the company products and services, communicate product and service offerings, and support customer supply needs. ISR generates new customers, drives sales, and ensures customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for the growth and achievement of established budgets.
  • Execute BakeMark USA’s strategy to achieve and maintain dominant market share by obtaining orders for 100% of customer supply needs.
  • Act as an extension of the outside sales force to proactively grow ingredient and product sales.
  • Support the territory alignment by executing company initiatives and promoting core business – self‑manufactured products, exclusive brands, gourmet ingredient program, and promotions.
  • Establish new accounts by compiling prospective customer lists from newspapers, business directories, internet, networking, and other sources.
  • Qualify new customer leads by performing continual searches for new prospects and line‑item penetration in existing accounts.
  • Cover vacation relief by visiting, calling, and taking orders in the same schedule and manner customers expect.
  • The ISR role will develop into an Outside Sales Representative and will be eligible for commission, bonus, and compensation plans, as explained in the transition memo.
  • Attend sales training, demonstrations, shows, conventions, and meetings that pertain to BakeMark and supporting sales as directed by manager.
  • Complete all training: BakeMark University, BakeMark Rookie training, and study all literature on BakeMark USA website as directed by manager.
  • Run, manage, and analyze daily, weekly, and periodic reports to monitor accountability, relevance, and measurability.
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

Direct sales support in sales representative territory to maximize opportunity for the company.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

One year certificate from college or technical school; two years of hands‑on bakery experience; two years of prior route sales experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior Baking Industry experience highly desirable.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups.

MATH SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compare rates, ratios, percentages, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Apply common sense to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, email, and internet.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have, and maintain, a valid driver’s license issued by the State where the Branch is located or for remote reps within the primary territory. Must have current auto insurance.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Must have access to email on a daily basis. Must have dependable transportation. Must have telephone service.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Regular use of hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear; taste or smell. Frequently requires sitting, standing, and driving an automobile with frequent stops. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear continuously for 8 or more hours at a time. Must be able to use hands to finger, etc.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Works both inside and outside building; occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. Must taste, touch, and smell finished bakery products and related ingredients. Must travel in local territory when necessary. Often exposed to risk of electrical shock and radiation. Noise level is usually moderate.
