Job summary

Service Metal in Maryland Heights, MO, is hiring a Sales Representative to quote, sell, and support customers for a nationwide distributor. This role requires fast, accurate order entry and clear communication as you build a customer book.

You will work with a technical product line, use our CRM and proprietary software, and engage customers through in-person visits when needed. This is an onsite, full-time position with standard business hours.

Pay: $60,000-$70,000 | Full-Time | Business Hours, 8am-6pm | Onsite

Service Metal is hiring a Sales Representative to quote, sell, and support customers for a growing, nationwide distribution company. This is a technical product line and the people here know it well. You will learn it from them. This role is a strong fit for someone who works quickly without sacrificing accuracy, communicates well, and wants to build a book of business over time.

What You'll Do

• Enter inbound orders quickly and accurately, moving confidently between systems
• Prepare accurate sales quotations where precision and attention to detail are essential
• Respond to customer inquiries clearly, promptly, and professionally
• Work daily in our CRM and proprietary software, adapting quickly to systems and technology
• Manage multiple tasks and competing priorities with strong organization and time management
• Perform consistently in a high performance environment that calls for resilience and professionalism

Additional Responsibilities

• Evaluate customer requests and RFQs, interpreting the language and nomenclature customers use
• Determine customer potential and pricing using sound judgment and business acumen
• Process sales orders efficiently while maintaining a high standard of accuracy
• Develop new customer business and identify growth opportunities
• Maintain existing customer relationships with a responsive, customer-focused approach
• Assess complaints and shipping discrepancies, staying solution-oriented and negotiating effectively
• Coordinate with Accounting, Supply Management, and Operations to resolve issues and deliver for the customer
• Engage customers through occasional in-person visits
• Stay current on industry and market knowledge through continuous learning
• Attend company trainings and meetings
