Job summary

Housby Mack, Inc is seeking an Inside Sales Representative for our Used Parts division in Des Moines, IA. You will solicit new business, grow existing accounts, and handle internet sales through wholesale and customer websites, while supporting the Outside Sales Team and assisting customers in-house.

Responsibilities include answering calls/emails, creating call reports, discussing part features, invoicing sales, and maintaining strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Previous Inside Sales experience required.
• Used parts experience within Heavy Duty industry highly preferred.
• Familiarity with CRM platforms.
• Strong computer and phone skills.
• Ability to interpret customer needs.
• Effective oral communication over the phone and in person.
• Valid Driver's License and dependable transportation.

• Answer incoming phone calls and email requests for used parts, and complete outgoing calls and emails to sell parts inventory.
• Prepare call reports completely, accurately and on a timely basis.
• Discuss uses and features of various parts to customers based on knowledge of equipment.
• Field and reply to customer inquiries regarding used parts in a timely manner.
• Record sales by invoicing customers.
• Follow prescribed cash, credit, and check processing procedures of Housby.
• Maintain a specific amount of customer touch points each day via emails/calls.
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints.
• Follow-up with buyers to ensure referral business.
• Provide regular reports on online sales performance to senior management.
• Ensure parts listed on the website are accurately portrayed with photos and descriptions per standards.
• Assist with shipping/receiving of parts and walk-in customers as needed.
• Support Outside Sales Team with parts sourcing, data input, and follow-up.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Housby is looking for an ambitious and experienced Inside Sales Representative to be responsible for soliciting new business for our used parts sector, while also maintaining and growing existing accounts. This individual will be handling internet sales through our wholesale and customer websites, answering incoming calls, making consistent outbound calls to new customers, supporting various sales functions for Outside Sales Team, and assisting customers in-house, as needed.

• Support Outside Sales Team with various tasks including parts sourcing, data input, customer follow‑up, etc.
• Maintain and create good customer relationships, internal and external.
• Must have knowledge and ability to view and understand parts manuals for parts research.
• Participate in job‑related training and development.
• Maintain a professional image at all times.
• Expected to follow the Company's safety rules and safety policies.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Previous Inside Sales experience required.

EDUCATION:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of material.
• Requires the use of both hands.
• Position may require standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling.
• Ability to view a computer monitor.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• The work environment for this position can be varied due to the differences in our work site. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, toxins, and outside weather conditions.
• Potentially exposed to battery acid, gasoline, chemical cleaning material or other toxic materials commonly found in motor vehicle service departments, some of which may be considered health hazards.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
• Works primarily indoors.
