Job summary

Nexair-LL in Arkansas seeks a Backup Route Driver to support delivering compressed gas cylinders and other products. You will safely load, transport, and deliver to customers, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, and maintain DOT documentation.

This role requires a CDL A or B with HazMat, a clean MVR, and the ability to lift up to 150 pounds. You must meet DOT physical standards and communicate effectively with customers and supervisors.

Qualifications

Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, vendors, co-workers and management.

Ensure all required paperwork is accurately completed, including coding, costing, and pricing.

Communicate by phone and in person with customers, sales staff, store managers and others, inquiring about and providing information on cost, ordering and delivery times, etc.

Establish and maintain good customer relations.

Maintain neat, clean and professional personal appearance.

Coordinate with purchasing department any product shortages or outages.

Ensure all administrative and accounting related procedures are strictly observed.

Backup Route Driver:

Willing to travel to other locations to fill in as needed.

Safely load, transport, and deliver compressed gas cylinders and hard goods to customers.

Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulations.

Complete all required DOT/FDA documentation accurately.

Track deliveries and pickups using handheld technology.

Return empty cylinders for refilling and maintain proper inventory levels.

Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of assigned vehicle.

Communicate with supervisors regarding maintenance, delivery efficiencies, and customer concerns.

Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional interactions.

Identify customer needs and help ensure appropriate inventory levels to minimize emergency deliveries.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

One (1) year driving experience.

CDL A or B with HAZMAT.

Employee must meet all physical qualification standards imposed by the DOT.

Clean MVR driving record.

Ability to read and comprehend Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk on concrete for an extended period of time, bend, use hands and arms, must be able to handle cylinders regularly weighing 150 pounds, up to a maximum of 600 pounds. The employee also occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and hazardous materials and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risks of electrical shock. The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.

Flexibility to work overtime as required.
