Job summary

Caltrol is seeking a technical sales professional to size, select, and engineer process valves, actuators, and instrumentation, collaborating with customers to determine the best technical and commercial solutions.

You will work with internal teams to support orders, gather customer input, and help shape sales strategies while maintaining strong supplier relationships. The role offers hybrid work with travel across AZ, CA, and NV.

Qualifications

• College degree with a STEM focus and/or demonstration of general technical sales competency.
• Strong customer, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Team attitude and willingness to coordinate projects internally.
• Ability to handle special assignments and a demanding workload to meet customer deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Size, select, and engineer process valves, actuators, and/or instrumentation to address customers' problems and applications.
• Gather information from customers and teammates to determine the best technical and commercial solution for each opportunity.
• Regularly interact with customers to provide exceptional service and establish long‑term, mutually beneficial relationships.
• Develop and apply valuable expertise about Caltrol's solutions
• Support internal customers (Account Managers, Order Management, Accounting, Shop) to provide support and efficient execution of customer orders.
• Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts, Account Managers, and Business Unit Leaders on key opportunities to determine Caltrol's scope and sales strategy.
• Maintain positive and productive relationships with Caltrol's principal suppliers.
• Follow up on quotations, demonstrating an ability to close sales.

Hiring Range:

The hiring range for this position is $33.00-$37.00 p/hour plus Quarterly Profit Sharing. This is the pay scale range Caltrol reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary based on geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience of the candidate along with the requirements of the position.

The job is full‑time, Monday‑Friday. This position is eligible for Caltrol's hybrid work program, allowing remote work for up to two days per week, subject to program qualifications and at the discretion of management.

Physical Demands:

This job will require significant amounts of sitting. A standing desk may be available if accommodations are required. This job requires the use of a computer and a telephone.

Travel:

Must be willing to travel throughout the Caltrol territory (AZ, CA, NV) as needed. Travel might require overnights.
