Job summary

Carrier is seeking a Sales Engineer in Port Reading, NJ to support HVAC sales activities, emphasize product features, and coordinate pricing proposals for new and existing products. The role requires strong customer liaison skills and a proactive approach to closing opportunities.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in Engineering or a HS diploma with HVAC sales experience, and knowledge of building systems and sustainability initiatives.

Responsibilities

Role Responsibilities

• Sell and assist sales process; emphasize product features and select materials based on customer need, specifications, interests, demand, capabilities and limitations
• Coordinate estimating processes; work with customer, sales teams, estimating and leadership to generate accurate pricing proposals for new and existing products
• Maintain and interpret all quote documentation with accurate pricing and configurations; prepare quotes and contracts for potential customers
• Work with sellers in your assigned market to build out comprehensive quotes for repair and service opportunities
• Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information

Role Purpose

• Provides high level of service to internal and external customers
• Establish customer rapport and effective questioning techniques to identify the prospect’s needs, budget, decision-making process, timeline, and next steps
• Utilize applicable sales tools such as Salesforce to track and effectively develop sales opportunities

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Engineering OR High School Diploma with 3+ years of experience in HVAC sales in lieu of degree

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, Facility Management, or Business
• HVAC industry knowledge
• Aptitude to understand building mechanical system basics, facility management budgeting processes, sustainability initiatives, and customer needs
• Strong communication skills and ability to present to clients and key stakeholders
• Strong team building and relationship building ability and desire

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is between $64,500.00 - $129,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. The pay range will not be below the minimum wage applicable to the jurisdiction in which the applicant is to be employed.

Other Compensation

Thisposition may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
