Job Summary

This inside sales position oversees an existing field or inside sales account portfolio until a Territory Manager is assigned. It is a B2B sales role that may sell amenities, textiles, room accessories, paper, janitorial supplies, cleaning, and FF&E products to hotels in the United States.

Responsibilities
  • Continuously monitor assigned accounts and take corrective action to maintain and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Regularly communicate with assigned accounts regarding new products and services, company changes, holiday schedules, item changes, and new sales opportunities.
  • Update customers about pricing or item changes and information.
  • Immediately notify the management team if an existing account is in jeopardy of discontinuing service or if issues remain unresolved.
  • Interact with various internal departments to provide vital information for servicing the customer, including merchandising changes, product movement, new business, or changes in proprietary product information.
  • Provide advance notification to Operations about new customers or changes affecting orders or delivery.
  • Increase sales through account penetration by analyzing current sales and volume, planning sales calls, and following up.
  • Utilize product knowledge, ROI and analytical tools (e.g., Phocas, GForce, Salesforce.com) to target new prospects and opportunities.
  • Work with Accounts Receivable to ensure invoices are paid within agreed terms.
  • Assist in setting up new accounts, including creating customer order guides, obtaining applications, setting up price rules, establishing schedules, implementing pricing agreements, and coordinating with departments to meet customer expectations.
Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing or Business preferred.
Experience
  • 1–2 years in customer service or sales.
  • Experience in hospitality or distribution preferred.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone. Frequent handling of items and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds is required.

Work Environment

Primarily an office environment with limited travel possible for training, meetings, events, or client engagements. May require use of a personal vehicle for business travel and maintaining a valid driver’s license. If working remote, must have required software and a dedicated workspace free of distractions.

  • The noise level is usually moderate.
  • Evening and weekend work may be required depending on customer needs.
