Job description

McCoy Construction & Forestry, a John Deere dealership group with 25 locations across the Midwest and East South Central Regions, has an opening for an Inside Sales Representative.

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for the sale, rental, or leasing of all new and used John Deere and “all-makes” equipment, parts, and service, and for meeting customer needs and growing market share, while maintaining acceptable levels of gross profit and attaining sales unit targets.

Handles the entire inside sales process from proposal to close; reaches or exceeds sales quotas. Sells the organization's products and/or services to established customers or new prospects via telephone or walk-in business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not in order of priority):
  • Assists in pricing equipment for territory managers.
  • Maintains records of equipment and attachment inventory, ensuring rentals are posted daily and computer information is updated immediately.
  • Overall responsibility for all whole goods inventory and attachments for that location.
  • Makes appropriate value adjustments from demos and loaners.
  • Coordinates any service prep work for whole goods sales (excluding used equipment).
  • Assists walk-in customers with equipment issues.
  • Supports territory managers with customer or equipment issues.
  • Directs the rental program, ensuring proper equipment to rent and accurate paperwork completion by customers and store personnel.
  • Assists General Managers in collecting open accounts.
  • Under the direction of the General Manager or Regional Sales Manager, coordinates Territory Managers' sale of equipment or accessories.
  • Interprets and implements company policies and develops operating procedures to facilitate store operations.
  • Ensures cash deposits are made daily.
  • Ensures the store presents a good image to customers and guests.
  • Ensures proper maintenance of the building and grounds regarding appearance, fire, and safety protection.
Education, Skills & Knowledge Required:
  • A high school diploma is required, but a college degree is preferred.
  • Expertise in both Mac and PC operating systems.
  • Familiarity with basic troubleshooting procedures.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
